VoltSense was born from a simple frustration experienced by boat owners across Estonia: the constant worry about their vessels during winter storage. Our founder, with decades of experience in electronics and IoT systems, watched countless boat owners lose sleep over dead batteries, unauthorized access, and undetected bilge pump failures.
The existing marine monitoring solutions were either prohibitively expensive enterprise systems designed for commercial fleets, or unreliable consumer gadgets that couldn't withstand the harsh Nordic marine environment. There had to be a better way—something professional-grade yet affordable, powerful yet simple to install.
In 2023, working from a small workshop in Tallinn, we developed the first VoltSense P2 prototype. Using Nordic Semiconductor's cutting-edge nRF9151 chip for cellular connectivity and leveraging our expertise in low-power IoT design, we created a device that could monitor a boat's vital systems for months on a single battery charge. After rigorous testing through Estonia's brutal winter and countless iterations based on early customer feedback, VoltSense P2 was ready for the world.
Today, we're proud to serve hundreds of boat owners across the Nordic region and Australia, with a growing presence in marinas throughout Europe. Every VoltSense device is designed in Estonia and built with the same attention to detail and commitment to quality that defined our first prototype. We're not just building monitoring devices—we're giving boat owners the peace of mind they deserve.
